<NOTE>Admission to the Cultural Exchange Exhibition is free for the following visitor categories (valid ID or proof of entitlement required):

Train by Nishitetsu : (from Nishitetsu Fukuoka (Tenjin) Sta.)

  1. Take a train bound for Nishitetsu Futsukaichi Sta.
  2. Transfer to Dazaifu Line and take a train bound for Dazaifu Sta.
  3. Approx 10 minutes walk from Dazaifu Sta.

Train by JR: (from JR Hakata Sta.)

  1. Take a Train bound for JR Futsukaichi Sta. on Kagoshima Line and,
    • Go to Nishitetsu Futsukaichi Sta. on foot or by bus, then take a train bound for Dazaifu Sta.
    • Get on a taxi to Kyushu National Museum. (approx 15 mins.)
    • Get on a Nishitetsu Bus bound for Dazaifu Sta. and get off at “in front of Kyushu National Museum (Kyushu Kokuritsu Hakubutsukan-mae)” bus stop. (approx 30 mins.) *at hourly interval

Car: Car by Kyushu Expressway

  1. From Dazaifu I.C. via Takao crossing (about 20min.)
  2. From Chikushino I.C. via Takao crossing (about 20min.)


  1. Take a subway to Hakata Sta. and transfer to JR Line *Please see “Train by JR” above.

Free admission to the Cultural Exchange Exhibition for disabled visitor and one caretaker. Disabled person handbook or similar identification required.

  • Disabled persons and 1 caretaker can enter the main exhibition room


  • 15 wheelchairs are available to borrow for your visit. Please ask the attendants.
  • Exclusive parking spaces are reserved for visitors with disabilities. Please ask the Museum staff at the parking gate.
  • For visitors arriving from the Dazaifu station, please use the access tunnel. Please use the intercom to contact the Museum staff if you would like to use the inclined lift. The lift gates would open automatically. Visitor with disability can board the lift together with one caretaker.

  • Diaper changing tables are available in all the ladies restrooms and accessible restrooms.
  • Nursing room is located at the 1st floor.
  • For the safety of the child and other visitors, strollers are not allowed when the exhibition gallery is crowded. Please use the baby sling instead.

  • Assistance and guide dogs are welcome in the exhibition galleries.
  • There is a assistance and guide dogs toilet at the rest house outside the Museum. Please feel free to use it. Do clean up the area after use. Pets are prohibited from using the facility.
