Going inside the museum, you can see the long curtain from the ceiling and glass-walled space. At the entrance, the hanging lantern made by Nebuta festival craftspeople in Aomori is decorated to tell the origin of the room's name. That is "Ajippa". This room is be suitable for both kids and adults.
Entering Ajippa without shoes, there's an open space and gallery space called "Ajigyara".

In Open space, there are various stands with goods to experience Asian and European culture. Commodities, household groceries, costumes and toys from China, Korea, Thailand, Indonesia, Holland, Portugal and Japan can be tried.

There are also several spots with different themes to introduce annual events, traditional culture called Ajian. You can come even by yourself or with friends or family.
Ajigyara is for suitable to deepen consideration about museum. It is quiet place on the contrary of open space and you can experience a part of the curator's work.

Right behind Ajippa, there's a spot called "Ajian". It's a workshop space to feel Japanese and Asian houses.
Currently a workshop to introduce Korean Pojaki (traditional patchwork quilt) is available. With real Pojaki, you can enjoy Korean traditional culture at hand.
We'll change displays 2 or 3 times a year and would like to represent Asian annual events and festivals also lifestyles.

In Ajippa, there are up and down and headphones, TV screen are prepared. You can hear sounds of markets or music from various countries. There are also holes to see the different world.

Image Be museum attendant

There's a program called "Be museum attendant" to understand museum activities. Among numerous works, you can experience "Check the items" and "Exhibit items".

Behind Ajigyara, replica of storage is installed and participants of the program can pick up their favorite art works and prepare for the exhibition. Lecture how to treat and choose art works would be done then sketch them. Collecting information regarding art and discover new world is purpose of this program.

After the sketch, your discovery would be exhibited. Participants will consider the location, lighting and prop. This program takes about 30 to 40 min. in total.

To meet visitors' requests, trained volunteers will welcome in the museum. They are all friendly and helpful with wide range of generations.
