It is honorable pleasure for us to announce the special exhibition under the title of g Era of the National Treasures and Princess Atsuhime, World of Tokyo University Compilation Centreh.

Tokyo University Compilation Centre has over a hundred years history and has collected a lots of materials from Meiji era to edit Historical Papers of Japan, one of the leading data of Japanese History Study. The number of the materials is over 200,000 and it is the top level for both quality and quantity. Now all these materials were moved over 900km to Kyushu National Museum due to the earthquake retrofit of Tokyo University Compilation Centre since last autumn. In this exhibition, the selected precious 100 pieces (including 49 National Treasures and 18 Important Cultural Assets) will be displayed in 3 groups according to the theme. First theme is Shimazu family, Satsuma Clan and Japan. Shimazu family had ruled Southern Kyushu and represents the National Treasure gShimazu Family Historyh, and Princess Atsuhime had played an important role during the end of Edo period in Satsuma Clan. Second theme is Kyushu where had been the gate for the international exchange since the ancient time. Third theme is the exhibition of the precious treasures of Tokyo University Compilation Centre.

It is the first time to hold this kind of special exhibition other than Tokyo area. We hope all of you enjoy all those prestigious masterpieces developed Japanese history.

Image Admission fee: Adult 1,200yen (1,000yen)
High school and undergraduate students 900yen (700yen)
The school child and the junior high school student are free.

*Admission free for disability and 1 caretaker. Please bring the physical disability certificate.
*( ) fee is also for over 65 years old. Please bring the identification with birth date such as health insurance card, driving license, and so on.
